The wider Maasai Mara region is an area of high biodiversity richness that attract many annual visitors from abroad as well as from within the country. Data on species lies within a few national organisations and is often outdated and incomplete. Citizens visiting the area can help collect observations that can help fill these gaps, complement existing datasets or help verify official datasets. The map above shows some of the currently available biodiversity related datasets including their sources.

In the course of this project, we would like to collect and collate citizen collected biodiversity data and share these with select stakeholders and/or the public (taking into account sensitive data).
